“Backgammon Proficiency Test” also known as “BGTV Proficiency Contest” (in Istanbul Open) was held on Saturday, January 12th, the second day of the Istanbul Open 2019. Here we held a proficiency test for seven years consecutively since 2013.
Thankfully, Arda Fındıkoğlu, who is the host of the Istanbul Open and the president of WBF Turkey, arranged a special room for testees. All of his staff and Cüneyt Argun Genç helped us a lot during and before the test. We can’t thank them enough.
Eleven participants with various levels from various countries challenged it this year.
The result says that Cumhur Bektüre (Turkey) answered 33 problems correctly (out of 50) and was ranked first among them. Felix Ziva (Israel) got second place at the contest, and Igor Romashov (Russia) was ranked third.
And, what great news!!
Cumhur Bektüre won the main championship of the Istanbul Open 2019!
Congratulations!! We are so proud of you, Cumhur.

Arda Fındıkoğlu, Cüneyt Argun Genç and Abdullah Sorgüven have challenged the same test after the Istanbul Open 2019. They strictly monitored each other to play fair, so we decided to list up their scores on the official results just as before.
We really appreciate their cooperation during “BGTV Proficiency Contest”.
Thank you again! 😉
