On Thursday, August 6th, the third round of the 5th “Backgammon Proficiency Test” was conducted at the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo, during the 40th Backgammon World Championship.
There were fourteen testees from different national origins.

As a result, Alain Babillon (France) got the highest score and Doug Mayfield (USA) got the lowest error rate.
We had prepared a special prize for a winner of this event, and Doug won a gold-lacquer (Japanese traditional Kin-makie) board by defeating Alain with a 1-point match.
